Description

A warm, gooey brie cheese baked inside a crusty bread bowl, topped with sweet-tart cranberry sauce and fragrant thyme for a festive appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 round loaf of sourdough bread (about 8 inches in diameter)
  • 1 wheel of brie cheese (8 oz)
  • 1/2 cup cranberry sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice off the top of the sourdough loaf and hollow out the center, leaving a 1-inch thick shell.
  2. Place the brie wheel inside the hollowed bread bowl. Spread cranberry sauce evenly over the brie and sprinkle with thyme leaves.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and replace the bread top. Wrap the entire loaf in foil and bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is melted.
  4. Remove from oven, let cool for 5 minutes, then unwrap and serve warm with bread pieces for dipping.
